Samantha Slinkard

As a recent graduate of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Ms. Slinkard currently works as a researcher within the Department of Surgery at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas School of Medicine. Ms. Slinkard designs and leads research and evaluation projects. She is proficient in research and program/intervention design, mixed methods research, formative and summative evaluation, statistical analysis, grant writing, and scientific writing for the dissemination of research findings. Her research interests are violence and injury prevention, global health, and violence (warfare’s effect on health), maternal and child health, infectious diseases, sexual and reproductive health, and gender studies. Her professional experience includes non-profit program management, K-12 education, and global public health research support. She currently has one peer-reviewed publication examining infant mortality in Nigeria exposed to the Healthy Sunrise Foundation’s Baby Shower Initiative for prenatal care.
